Hookup Website Scams

Your horny, you have been looking at porn sites and you now get a pop up or message that links you to a hookup site. Promises of a risk free encounter with someone in your area tonight!. You take the bate. Filling in the member registration and get signed in. After going through filling in some basics on your profile you finally get to the sites main dashboard.

Messages start showing up from local girls in your area with sexy photos and messages. You click to read or view your messages and you are now asked to purchase a membership to the site to get access to all these women that are now blowing up your message window. Only $27.30 for a monthly subscription. Given how many girls are already messaging you it sounds like a fair deal(so says your second head), so you get out your card and purchase a membership.

Now behind the paywall you try to interact with the girls that were messaging you. You may get a few basic responses back but then the messaging will just stop. Over a few day you find that most if not all of the messages you were getting have stopped and you really have no leads on any hookups either for tonight or any night. You close down your account and write it off in your mind as just a bad site. Then start this whole process over just a few weeks or months later when you are horny and have been looking at porn sites.

Why did I tell this story? Well, I think that many men will be able to relate to this experience. The web is full of catfishing sites and dating / hookup sites that are not real and are designed scams or are more like a game for the adult men players instead of a real hookup website. The game site will talk about this in their fine print and explain how these bot accounts are used to engage with the members for entertainment purposes and that you would never be able to meet them. That’s right, they tell you that you are paying for the platform and that part of that platform is the interaction of bots that will pretend to be real and want to hookup with you, but as they are bots this will never happen.

All this falls under buyer beware in the US and so much of this money is made without any recourse from the men who are falling for these tricks. I hope that this article will shed some light on the practices of these hookup sites so that you can save your money and time.

As it stands the only two apps that I would even consider looking into for real hookups would be Ashley Madison and Tinder. Ashley Madison has its own issues with site security a few years back and I do see some complaints of bot activity but they contend that they are not running bots as apart of their platform but dealing with bots as an issue of the site. I have no partnership or affiliation with these two companies, they are just what I have found to be the most effective at their mission statements.
